DORTMUND, GERMANY, February 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To GaCaS Software's new and already highly decorated, outstanding products belongs the easy-to-use duplicate finder "SoftChronizer which is able to compare files and to find duplicates with its unique-, in the software "fuzzy logic" mentioned features, - such as the well-known (and oftenly used in biometric procedures) "Levenshtein distance _http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levenshtein_Distance_" algorithm (text-based comparison function), and with the help of a binary "byte-by-byte" file comparison option. With its so-called "quick-selection buttons", the SoftChronizer user can easily compare Microsoft Windows file types - and thereby find duplicate files, for example, to test large collections of images or music files for duplicates - and to sort out these

Both within the software offered procedures have advantages and disadvantages. Therefore it was necessary to implement both: the binary - and as well the text-based search function: The binary search function of the software works "sharp", i.e. it finds duplicates with exactly the same size and the same content, but quite different file names. - The very fast - and based on file name and file size - "fuzzy" comparison function, however, is able to find both: different file names, as well as (if set) duplicates with different sizes, but may also provide false-positive results. - These operating principles, and the associated limitations, are from the technical point equal to all duplicates search engines.

In contrast to them, SoftChronizer not only lays emphasis on the speed of its search routines, but also on the flexibility and configurability of its functions by the user - so the quality of his "inner qualities" - without overtaxing the user. - Particularly successful and incomparable with other products of this category appear to us in this context, the many choices that the user has to select-, delete- or move the found duplicate files using the context menu of the table display, according to various criteria, such as, - to mention just a few: "All files with regard to a copy", "All MP3 files with a lower bit rate", or "All smaller pictures". SoftChronizer also provides the user with additional information on specific types of files (ID3 tag information on MP3 music files (bitrate, duration of track in minutes, track- and album name), as well as pixel size and color resolution of the most common image files (JPG, BMP, GIF, ICO)) directly in the results table, with which the user can identify at a glance which of the duplicate files he wishes to retain and which not!- Also a very useful feature that was first summarized in a single duplicate search program, because these features were previously only available in a variety of individual special duplicate-seekers!
